17th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship 2024: Day 2 Highlights and Achievements

The 17th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship 2024 continued its thrilling matches on Sunday, with some of Pakistan’s most skilled taekwondo athletes competing fiercely across various categories. Supported by Combaxx, this highly anticipated event, held in Islamabad, saw intense battles in multiple divisions, including cadet and senior categories for both males and females. The competition not only highlights the athletic prowess of participants from all over the country but also aims to uplift and inspire future taekwondo enthusiasts in Pakistan.

Cadet Competitions: Rising Stars Shine

The cadet boys’ under-57 kg category witnessed Raheem from Balochistan clinching the gold medal, marking a significant achievement in his young career. He was closely followed by Hashir from KPK, who took home silver, while Junaid of the Islamabad Association proudly secured the bronze.

In the +57 kg division, Azlan of KPK showcased excellent skill, earning himself a well-deserved gold medal. Zohaib from Balochistan stood out with a silver, and Jawad from Islamabad Yellow rounded off the podium with a bronze medal, further solidifying Islamabad’s dominance in the championship.

The female cadet under-51 kg category brought forward impressive performances from Ghous Fatima of Islamabad Purple, who emerged victorious with the gold. Zainab Aftab from the Islamabad Golden team took silver, while Khadija from Islamabad Association and Aima Tariq from KPK both secured bronze medals.

Senior Division: Veterans Show Their Skills

In the senior female -46 kg kyorugi division, Maiza of the Islamabad Association shined brightly, capturing the gold medal with precision and skill. Khushbakht from KPK claimed the silver, while Mahim of Islamabad Black and Gul Nain from Punjab bagged the bronze medals, showcasing a high level of competition in the female senior category.

The senior para events were also a significant part of the championship, bringing in inspiring performances from athletes with disabilities. Saira of the Pak Army claimed a gold medal in the female para under-60 kg kyorugi category, with Hira from KPK earning a silver and Punjab’s Javeria securing the bronze. In the male para under-70 kg kyorugi competition, Arsalan of Pak Army showcased tremendous skill and power to secure the gold, while Ehtisham from KPK earned a silver medal, and Saleem from PAF and Zahid from Balochistan each took home bronze medals.

Esteemed Guests and Supporters

The event attracted a distinguished array of guests, including Omar Saeed, CEO of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation; Murtaza Hassan Bangash, Secretary General of PTF; Dr. Izhar ul Haq, Secretary of the Punjab Taekwondo Association; Naseebullah Babar, President of the Quetta Taekwondo Association; and Yousef Karami, Head Coach of PTF. Their presence highlighted the championship’s significance in promoting taekwondo in Pakistan and nurturing young talent for international stages.
