Mushahid Hussain Urges Global Action For Palestine At Ankara Conference

Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed’s Call for Global Action at the ‘Global Palestine Conference’

At the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Justice and Development (AK) Party, Pakistan’s Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed took center stage as he delivered a powerful Keynote Address at the ‘Global Palestine Conference’ in Ankara, Turkiye. With the Turkish President as the Chief Guest, the conference brought together over 1,000 attendees from more than 50 countries, focusing on addressing the Palestinian crisis and promoting justice.

As a respected Member of the Executive Board of Al Quds Parliament and Co-Chairman of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), Senator Mushahid Hussain offered a bold three-point Action Plan to confront ongoing Israeli aggression and Zionist expansionism. He highlighted the resilience of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran in resisting Israeli oppression, describing their stance as emblematic of the phrase, “Might is not Right, but Right is Might.”

Mushahid Hussain’s speech was also a tribute to President Erdogan, whom he described as the “Lion of the Muslim World” in acknowledgment of Erdogan’s unwavering support for Palestine and his leadership in the Muslim world. He praised Erdogan for his victory in the Turkish presidential elections, while also condemning Israel for perpetrating what he called the “first televised genocide in history.”

The senator denounced Western double standards, accusing the West of aiding Israeli crimes, and lamented the failure of several Muslim regimes to stand up for Palestine due to fear or expediency.

A Bold Three-Point Action Plan

  1. International Leaders Delegation: Mushahid called on President Erdogan to lead an International Delegation, comprising leaders from countries like Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, Algeria, and Brazil. The purpose of this delegation would be to visit Washington after the upcoming U.S. Presidential elections and push the newly elected president to reconsider America’s pro-Israel stance. This diplomatic move, according to him, could shift global policies towards a fairer resolution of the Palestinian issue.
  2. Joint Naval Flotilla for Gaza: Mushahid proposed that Turkiye, Pakistan, and Indonesia combine their naval forces to create a Joint Naval Flotilla for Peace and Humanitarian Assistance. This flotilla, authorized by the United Nations General Assembly, would deliver essential goods like medicine, food, and supplies to Palestinians in Gaza. Describing Gaza as “the world’s largest open-air prison,” the senator emphasized that such an initiative would symbolize the Muslim Ummah’s commitment to action and humanitarian support.
  3. Global Media Initiative: In line with previous initiatives launched by President Erdogan and former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Senator Mushahid called for a renewed Global Media Initiative. He stressed that biased Western media coverage of the Gaza crisis underscores the need for an international media platform to champion the voices of the Muslim world and the Global South. This initiative would create narratives based on truth, justice, and the aspirations of oppressed communities like those in Palestine, Kashmir, and the Rohingya.

A Call for Change

Mushahid Hussain concluded his well-received speech by invoking the Latin phrase “Carpe Diem” (Seize the Moment), urging the Muslim world to act decisively and without delay. He expressed confidence that the sacrifices of Palestinians, Lebanese, and Kashmiris would not be in vain, calling for unity and concrete action in the struggle for justice.

This stirring speech, rooted in political strategy and humanitarian urgency, resonated with the diverse audience, offering a glimmer of hope for a future where justice prevails.
