Pakistani actress and Tamasha Season 2 winner Aruba Mirza has opened up about one of the most difficult experiences of her personal life, revealing how she discovered that her former fiancé had married another woman after their seven-year relationship.
The actress shared the emotional story during an appearance on Mazaaqrat, hosted by Imran Ashraf. While discussing relationships and betrayal, Aruba became visibly emotional as she recalled the moment she learned that the future she had imagined with her former partner had suddenly disappeared.

According to Aruba, she had been in the relationship for seven years, and marriage was part of their plans. She explained that people around them were also aware that the couple intended to get married, which made the eventual betrayal even more difficult to understand.
At the time, Aruba had no reason to suspect that the relationship was coming to such an unexpected end.
She recalled that her former partner told her he was travelling to Islamabad because of family-related matters. Meanwhile, Aruba was occupied with a shoot and continued with her professional commitments, unaware of what was happening behind the scenes.

The truth reportedly reached Aruba through a friend who asked her to look at some pictures.
When she opened them, she discovered that the photographs were from her former partner’s Nikah with another woman.
The revelation left her completely devastated. Aruba recalled breaking down in tears while she was on set, leaving those around her concerned. She said she was unable to explain the real reason for her emotional state because she was still attempting to comprehend what had happened.
When her makeup artist asked why she was crying, Aruba said she could not reveal the truth at that moment. An explanation was eventually given on set that her grandmother had passed away.
The incident, however, was far more personal and painful than anyone around her knew.

Reflecting on betrayal more broadly, Aruba said it can come from both romantic partners and friends. She described herself as someone who has experienced betrayal from both sides and acknowledged the lasting emotional effect such experiences can have.
During the conversation, she used the striking expression “living corpse” to describe the feeling of severe heartbreak.
Her words captured the contrast between appearing to carry on with everyday life and feeling emotionally empty inside. For Aruba, the experience was particularly difficult because she had to continue working and interacting with people while privately dealing with the shock.
Despite the pain, Aruba said that life continues and that healing takes time. She credited friendship and the passing of time with helping her move forward from the experience.
Clips from her interview have since drawn attention on social media, with viewers expressing sympathy and supporting the actress for speaking candidly about a deeply personal chapter of her life.
Aruba’s story also highlights the emotional challenges celebrities can face away from the spotlight. While professional commitments may continue as normal, personal heartbreak does not always disappear simply because the cameras are rolling.
Aruba Mirza has appeared in several Pakistani dramas, including Shahrukh Ki Saliyan, Rang Mahal and Intiqam. She gained broader recognition after winning Tamasha Season 2 in 2023.
Her latest comments offer audiences a more personal glimpse into an experience that shaped her emotionally, while also showing the importance of time and supportive friendships in moving forward.
For many viewers, Aruba’s candid account is a reminder that heartbreak can affect anyone, regardless of their public image or professional success.
