Abu Dhabi Crowned the Richest City in the World by Sovereign Wealth Funds!
According to the latest global ranking from Global SWF released on October 8, 2024, Abu Dhabi is the wealthiest city in the world based on capital managed by Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs), boasting an impressive $1.7 trillion. This figure accounts for the assets under management of major funds, including ADIA, Mubadala, and ADIC.
Following Abu Dhabi are notable cities like Oslo, Beijing, Singapore, Riyadh, and Hong Kong, which together hold two-thirds of the global SWF wealth, totaling $12.5 trillion.
Abu Dhabi, often referred to as “the Capital of Capital,” has cultivated a robust portfolio of institutional investors, making it a significant player in global finance. In addition to SWFs, the emirate hosts Central Banks, Public Pension Funds, and Royal Private Offices. The total public capital of Abu Dhabi is estimated at $2.3 trillion, projected to grow to $3.4 trillion by 2030.
