Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has unveiled a transformative project aimed at revolutionizing healthcare across the province. This ambitious initiative involves upgrading 150 healthcare centers into state-of-the-art “Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics,” equipped with modern facilities and digital systems to ensure seamless patient care.

At the launching ceremony, the Chief Minister distributed contract letters to doctors and emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to enhance healthcare delivery. These clinics promise to provide a clean, efficient, and patient-friendly environment, offering every basic facility required for treatment.

Key Highlights of the Initiative:

  1. Increased Funding for Dialysis Patients: Annual funding for dialysis patients will be raised from Rs700,000 to Rs1 million.
  2. Motorcycle Mini-Clinics: Mobile paramedical teams equipped with telemedicine systems will offer initial diagnosis and treatment in remote areas.
  3. Insulin Delivery for Type 1 Diabetes: Insulin will be provided directly to patients’ doorsteps, ensuring convenience and timely treatment.
  4. Focus on Cancer Treatment: At least 100,000 cancer patients will receive free medicines at their doorsteps for two months.
  5. Upgraded Machinery: Clinics will be equipped with ECG, ultrasound, CT scan, and MRI machines for accurate diagnosis.
  6. Help Desk Activation: Dedicated help desks will guide patients within hospitals for a better experience.

The Chief Minister also pledged to rehabilitate 1,250 basic health centers, out of which 904 have already been completed. She highlighted the importance of these centers in reducing the burden on major hospitals.

This groundbreaking project also addresses the shortage of nurses and aims to eliminate pilferage of medicines, ensuring 90% of medicines are provided free of cost.

With this initiative, healthcare in Punjab is poised for a significant transformation, benefiting not only its residents but also patients from neighboring regions.
