Sunita amp; Hassan’s Romantic Tale April 2008

1

Dreams do come true!

Sunita Marshall is not only a very talented fashion model but also has acting to her credit.

When did you get married and how old were the two of you?

We got married in 2008, I was 27 years old and Hasan was 26. Yes, you got it right it is not always a must for the bride to be younger it works the other way round as well – trust me.

Was your marriage an arranged one or not?

You must be joking. I married a younger boy. Who in our social setup would ever think of committing such a sin. Of course it was and remains a 100 percent ‘Love Marriage’.

How and where did you meet?

We met in the clouds I mean we were both on board an airplane. Our eyes met across a sea of people and I instantly realised that I liked the way those eyes made me feel. I remember I was going to Lahore for a fashion show and Hasan I later discovered was on his way to organise a show for a company he used to work for.

What made you two decide that you were perfect for each other?

I liked what I saw but when we started talking I found him to be the most gentle and sweet soul on earth. I didn’t want him to stop talking to me. I found myself looking for excuses to be in his company and Hasan says he knew from the word go that he has found the girl of his dreams. He calls me his soul mate and I know he is my soul mate.

One thing you remember about your wedding day?

I was really looking forward to my wedding. I planned for everything so the day will just be perfect. But if you ask me what I remember then my answer will be that I only remember being sick. So sick that all I wanted to do was to lie down and sleep. I could not be bothered at that time who it was I was marrying I just wanted the ceremony to be over. I think I would have gladly signed my life away to anyone who had offered to end the ceremony sooner in return.

One thing you wish you could have added to the ceremony:

Weddings are a strange occasion. It makes you yearn for your loved ones and my immediate family despite trying, wasn’t able to come from UK to be part of the celebrations. That is one thing that I wish I could change.

What was the wedding night gift for the bride?

Hasan gave me a beautiful ring but like I shared before I was so sick that all I wanted was to go to sleep. So the next morning when I woke up I vaguely remembered that Hassan gave me something the night before which I took off and kept it somewhere safe. Where? – was the big question on my mind. I desperately looked for it and after wasting two hours finally found it under the pillow.

Where did you have your honeymoon? Who decided on the place and why?

We went to Disneyland on our honeymoon. It was both of our childhoods dream but somehow we never made it to Disney as children so we decided to relive our childhood. However, we didn’t go immediately, we didn’t feel we needed to get away because we had no immediate family around anyway. So we went when we could take time out and that was a year after our marriage.

What was the one perfect moment of your honeymoon?

The most memorable is our trip together to Orlando. I bet you will not be able to print the details, so I will spare you.

What was the most embarrassing moment during your honeymoon?

When you are in the company of loved ones, every moment is plain fun and nothing feels embarrassing.

4

A favourite activity that the two of you enjoyed on your honeymoon?

I have a long list but I believe our walks on long winding roads, with a cool breeze caressing us can be one on the top.

The one thing you would change if you had the chance about your honeymoon?

Timings! Everything else was perfect

Who gives in first when you fight?

Like any decent man, Hasan does.

What is your song?

Too many songs, can’t pick one.

The first movie you saw as a couple? How did you like it?

I can’t remember.

5

The one relative or friend of your spouse whom you simply cannot tolerate and why?

Well all of his friends are my friends and vice versa.

Favorite activity as a couple now?

Watching a movie together after a tiring day at work

Which was the best time of your life? Before marriage? The honeymoon or now? Or still waiting? Other?

Well we still enjoy every moment that we spend together…before marriage was the typical girlfriend and  boyfriend relationship, now its a bit practical.

Any special memories incidents you would like to share?

A: Too many to jot down.
