PANTENE HUM BRIDAL WEEK CONCLUDES AFTER THREE DAYS OF GLAMOUR

Pakistan’s biggest bridal extravaganza Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week 2022 by HUM Network Limited, concluded after presenting unique, experimental and traditional bridal trends. The final day also had a delightful line up of celebrities walking as show-stoppers for various brands. The day’s proceedings started with a special segment by the title sponsor Pantene featuring dance group The Colony.

Show One on Day Three of the bridal extravaganza kicked off with Shamsha Hashwani’s ‘Jaan-e-Adaa’. The collection represented the heart and soul that the label is known for and imbued the essence of Shamsha Hashwani. This was followed by Ahsan’s Menswear’s Abi-Rawan’, featuring long over-lapping jackets with a sash tied around the waist, pleated style pants, signature Ahsan’s hand tie pagris and silk threaded shawls, followed by Sheeba Kapadia’s ‘Suroor’, a meticulously designed collection with a gorgeous colour palette ranging from majestic pastel shades to shimmery gold and regal reds. This was followed Shakeel’s by Zeeshan and Danish’s ‘Jhil Mil’, who presented a luxe formal collection. All the pieces in their collection were meticulously handcrafted and every tiny detail was embellished delicately with pure zardozi and a whimsically colour pallet. Humayun Alamgir was next to present his latest menswear collection ‘The Red Carpet Line’, featuring bold and high end tuxedos made from different velvets and embossed fabrics with hand work and a daring colour palette. Show one of the final day was concluded by Mehdi. His collection titled ‘Freedom’ was inspired by the desert landscape and its inhabitants.

Show two of the third day featured a solo show by the designer extraordinaire Rizwan Beyg, recipient of Tamgah-e-Imtiaz award last year for his services to rural development and female empowerment under the Bunyaad initiative. His collection titled ‘Jäshn’ was entirely embellished by the rural women trained under the Bunyaad initiative by the brand in various techniques and styles of embroidery, and was a homage to the hard work and dedication of these amazing women.

Day Three of the three-day bridal extravaganza had a brilliant line-up of celebrities walking for the designers – The incredible Sadaf Kanwal and Shehroz Sabzwari walked for Shamsha Hashwani, while Sami Khan walked the ramp for Ahsan’s Menswear. Rabia Butt show-stopped for Sheeba Kapadia. The lively Saheefa Jabbar walked for Shakeel’s by Zeeshan and Danish whereas comedian Tabish Hashmi and Umar Alam closed the show for Humayun Alamgir while the singing sensation Kaifi Khalil performed for the brand. The sensational ex supermodel Mehreen Syed walked for Mehdi. The grand finale by Rizwan Beyg featured the stunning Sana Javed.

Choreographer for PHBCW 2022 was Salwa Rafique and HUM Special Projects and Events Team, while hair and makeup was by NPro and NGents. DJ Omar presented the music for the shows. The backstage was managed by Salwa Rafique and Ahsan Qureshy was the official photographer. Show production and execution was managed by the Special Projects and Events team at HUM Network Limited.

Rizwan Beyg

Collection Name: Jäshn

Jäshn a celebration of the artisans.

In 2012 the Rizwan Beyg Label moved its embroidery workshops from city to the villages of South Punjab. After several years of training female artisans of small villages in the Bahawalpur district, these women were then employed by the label to produce its line of bridal, couture and pret labels. After receiving the prestigious Tamgah-e-Imtiaz award last year for his services to rural development and female empowerment under the Bunyaad initiative Rizwan Beyg continues to carry this tradition forward across borders, most recently to the UAE to train the Emirati women of Sharjah in embroidery skills. Today’s collection is entirely embellished by these rural women in various mediums techniques and styles of embroidery and is a homage to these amazing women whose skill set after a decade speaks volumes of their hard work and dedication despite being mothers, daughters and wives
